Michelle qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016 from Bottle Green Training in Nottingham and then joined Towy Vets in 2018. In March 2020 she became Practice Director.
She owns an American Bulldog called Archie, a Jack Russell called Axel and a French Bulldog named Jim as well as many other animals.

Sophie Davies RVN
Head Veterinary Nurse
Sophie joined Towy Vets in 2017 as a receptionist and then went on to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys running nurse consultations and lab work.
Sophie owns two Cocker Spaniels, Cosmo and Kali, as well three cats that were bought into Towy Vets as tiny kittens.

Zoe Allen RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Zoe joined us in 2021 after finishing Hartpury University. You may recognise Zoe as she worked with us on her placement back in 2018/2019. Zoe has an interest in diagnostic imaging.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time walking her dog Benson.

Melanie Rhodes RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Melanie started working in practice in 2013, qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017 and joined the Towy team in 2021. She holds a post-diploma certificate in nursing exotic species, and has particular interest in anaesthesia and canine behaviour. She is also a Clinical Coach, allowing her to teach and mentor veterinary nursing students in practice.
Melanie loves Chihuahuas, and has three of her own that accompany her everywhere! She also has two guinea pigs, a carpet python and an axolotl at home.

Amy Poppe
Patient Care Assistant
Amy joined Towy Vets in February 2022 to expand our team of Patient Care Assistants in line with our growing workload day to day. She is originally from Kent, but has been in South Wales for 10 years. Amy has previously worked in Pets At Home, and hopes to one day train as a Veterinary Nurse. She is particularly interested in learning the care and management of surgical patients.
Amy is an avid horse rider and her pride and joy is her thoroughbred. She also has three dogs and a bearded dragon called Boris.

Julia Villiers
Patient Care Assistant
Julia moved to Carmarthenshire in Sept 2018 and joined our team here at Towy Vets as a receptionist. In 2021 she progressed into a new role as a Patient Care Assistant in which she assists our vets and nurses in looking after your pets.
Julia enjoys meeting clients and their pets and in her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs, Envy, Kobe and Aura.
